Ash is our in-house rock & pop expert and modern tech guru who specialises in Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Ukulele. Ash’s musical journey started when he was seven years old, initially learning the piano before eventually getting his first guitar aged sixteen (it was an Epiphone Les Paul Classic). This quickly developed into an obsession with the likes of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Guns ’n’ Roses, Queen, AC/DC, Nirvana and literally anything that ROCKED! The rest is history…!

Ash graduated from Access Creative College in 2005 and spent the following years playing in all sorts of bands, whilst working as a tutor at a nationwide music school. Eventually, in 2010 Ash decided to form a company of his own - This is when Pure Musician was born!

If we fast forward to today, Ash is now an international touring musician and songwriter with his two bands; Mortishead and Dealer Uk. He also happens to be the head of our teaching team here at Pure Musician and has been a fully certified instructor of LCME/RGT for over ten years.

Luke is a professional guitarist and singer-songwriter who has established himself as one of Bristol’s top acoustic solo artists. His speciality is in all things Acoustic…And we mean ALL things!

Having first picked up a guitar when he was eleven years old he was originally more of an electric guitar player. With the help and guidance of an inspirational guitar tutor and mentor Luke developed a sophisticated understanding of Blues music at a very young age. This was a skill that was noticed by local blues legend Eddie Martin who invited Luke (aged just thirteen!) to take the lead role with The Eddie Martin Blues Band, making guest appearances on numerous occasions. He eventually began to aspire to players such as John Mayer, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Bonamassa, Andy Mckee and other great acoustic players and is now a legend in his own right!

Luke is a self confessed muso and had reached a grade eight playing standard by the time he left school in 2006. He worked himself up the ranks on the gigging circuit and launched a successful solo career in 2009, which is still going to this day! Luke also ran his own successful private tuition business (since 2011), before joining the Pure Musician team in 2015.
