RGT Registered Tutors
All of our teachers are members of the Registry of Guitar Tutors and are experienced in the requirements and standards expected for each grade. Graded exams are a great way to keep track of your progress and to give you a solid goal to work towards. Of course, some students may prefer the slightly more casual approach that focuses primarily on the practical aspects of playing the guitar, which is fine too. Grades aren’t for everyone, but we are!

Ages 7+
Our tutors specialise in teaching students aged 7+. We adopt appropriate teaching methods suited to the age and ability of the pupil to guarantee an effective and enjoyable learning process. All lessons are tailored to the individual - We don't do 'out of the box' teaching!

Learning an instrument can, and should be a challenging experience, but it is important to remember why we are here - To make good music and enjoy ourselves in the process! We know you don’t want to spend your life performing scale recitals, which is why we do our best to get you playing and having fun as much as we can!
Beginner To Advanced Students
We can teach you from the absolute beginning all the way up to grade 8 standard and beyond. If you are already an experienced player looking to work on specific techniques or skills, just jot down your requests on the contact form and we’ll do our best to help.

Graded exams are a great way to track your progress and to give you a solid goal to work towards. It is useful to find out what standard your playing is, and taking a graded exam is an excellent way of doing so via a reliable and independent assessment. RGT Graded Examinations are internationally recognised qualifications, and you can even earn UCAS points for passing grades 6-8. For more information on UCAS points for graded exams, click here.
Performance Diplomas
If Graded Exams aren’t really for you then an RGT Performance Diploma might be just the thing you need! Performance Diplomas are a great way to attain a recognised qualification that focuses purely on your performance skills. You have the option to take your exam in the traditional format, whereby you pop along to your local test centre, or you might prefer to submit an audio or video recording of yourself instead!
