I contacted Ash, not to have guitar lesson, but to unblock myself from a learning process that seemed interminably slow.
I did play guitar, but only for him to check the mechanics of my playing and correct any bad habits, thankfully few.
Our sessions consisted of an open discussions, where I described my learning process and the tools I used. He then explained more modern tools (Guitar Pro 8 for example), and the benefits. He also covered some guitar music theory, some I already knew, some I didn't, but the explinations made sense and have stuck.
He also been challenged me to push myself harder in terms of the physical act of playing higher up the neck with greater stretches, which is leading me to be a better all round player.
I am currently taking a break from these sessions to absorb all this new information and integrate it into the processes I have built around my guitar experience. But I will have more in the future.
I highly recommend Ash, his passion to help people enable themselves and his vast knowledge have been invaluable and his patience admirable

I am so pleased that I contacted Pure Musician. Ash has been teaching me to play my ukelele. As a beginner, and with no musical background, I was really struggling and on the verge of giving up. Ash has completely turned that around. I really look forward to my lessons, they are so much fun and I have learnt lots. My lessons are completely tailored to my needs and Ash has lots of patience and can try lots of different learning approaches to find the one that suits. I was slightly hesitant about online lessons to start with but the set up is great and it works really well. Ash is very motivational and I have found him to be a great teacher. Thanks Ash!

Ash is a great music teacher. Our 7 year old beginner really enjoyed his lessons. Ash was very patient, made things fun and the song choices for learning were great. Highly recommended :-)

The best guitar lessons I've had! Ash took time to understand what I wanted to achieve and was willing to share his considerable knowledge and experience to help me achieve this. I really liked the way he provided a shared folder to keep songs and information in, recorded short videos when needed and regularly updated a digital practice diary. He was also always available to help if I had a query. I would definitely recommend Pure Musician to everyone who wants to learn or improve their guitar skills.

Fantastic guitar tutor. With a son from a non musical family, but who loved playing guitar, we needed someone that could develop his skills but also keep music fun. Ash certainly delivered and has now been teaching my son for 2yrs. In that time I don’t recall one lesson that my son didn’t enjoy. Every lesson is well planned and thought through, but tailored to the style of music that kept my son’s interest. The skills and knowledge learned with Ash also resulted in my son achieving 100% in his GCSE guitar coursework. I cannot recommend Ash highly enough. 😊 🎸

I cannot recommend Ash highly enough. As an older learner, he really took time to understand my needs and what I wanted to achieve. His lessons are so well structured and he clearly puts a great deal of thought into each session. He also spends time preparing material and resources, all of which are well tailored. Lessons are fantastic; clear and fun, with a lot of content.
If you are keen to start, improve, or have a specific need, Ash will be able to help you. Great tuition.

Ash is a really friendly, supportive teacher who made great efforts to design and deliver lessons suited to my musical tastes and ambitions, which are a little quirky. He is an incredibly patient and open-minded person, and a flexible and attentive teacher. As an intermediate guitarist, the different skills and songs we covered really helped me progress and developed my knowledge of guitar playing styles and theory. Hopefully, I will be able to continue my lessons with Ash again at some point in the future, and I thoroughly recommend him for guitarists of any age who seek to learn and grow.

What can we say, Ash is amazing my daughter thoroughly enjoys every lesson she has with him. She’s not been playing electric guitar that long but Ash has such a positive teaching approach her confidence with her guitar has improved massively. Having very little musical knowledge Ash is always on hand to answer any questions we might have especially when it comes to buying equipment. We were lucky enough to find Ash first time when looking for a teacher and would have absolutely no worries in recommending him to anyone.

The quality and style of Ash's guitar lessons and the overall professionalism have exceeded my expectations by far.

Ash is an amazing tutor and is always keen to teach what you want to know as well as the things you really need to know. This makes the lessons so much fun and very enjoyable indeed. Nothing seems too much trouble and while the guitar is not an easy instrument to master I now feel that I am getting somewhere. My goal was always to be good enough to record something to keep for posterity and I feel that I am heading in the right direction! With the engaging and professional tuition provided by Pure Musician you can also realise your goals. But you need to practice!

My daughters, aged 12 and 14, have weekly guitar tuition with Ash from Pure Musician. Both have made outstanding progress and developed a lifelong love for the instrument. We are so happy to have found Pure Musician to teach our son guitar. They are totally professional, always punctual, reliable and passionate about what they do. They transmit energy, enthusiasm and fun throughout their teaching. Both our boys are taught by Pure Musician and we would highly recommend their services. Their passion for music and enthusiasm to teach has rubbed off on our boys willingness to learn and play. Lessons are well planned and teaching techniques varied according to individual needs. There is never any negativity, only encouragement and enthusiasm, always in a professional manner. Goals to achieve in between lessons are achievable and clearly explained with the ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude adopted if help is needed. My 13 year old has really enjoyed his lessons with Ash. Ash has given him music that he enjoys combined with instruction that has helped peak his interest. Therefore, he is practicing more and progressing. He's often off to practice now without a reminder as he's enjoying what he's doing. Ash has a gentle and encouraging teaching manner as well which suits my son well!

Ash is a truly dedicated and professional teacher. He teaches one of my sons the ukulele and the other, the electric guitar and he is completely committed and patient with them. He is very kind and they really enjoy their lessons. He always keeps you informed of their progress and what you can do to help as a parent.
